Michael S. Cornfeld, CFA
President
Michael Cornfeld is President of Heritage Investors Management Corporation and has over 50 years of experience managing investment portfolios for individuals and institutions. Mr. Cornfeld received a B.A. from Cornell University in 1971 and an M.A. from Columbia University in 1973. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1978.

Michael Cornfeld is President of Heritage Investors Management Corporation.
Mr. Cornfeld joined Heritage in January 1975 as Vice President of the Corporation. A Director since 1978, he was elected Chairman of the Board in September 1990. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1978. Mr. Cornfeld has more than 50 years of experience managing equity and fixed income portfolios for high net worth individuals and retirement plans.
Mr. Cornfeld received a BA in Government from Cornell University in 1971 and an MA in Political Science from Columbia University in 1973. His educational concentration was in international economic and political affairs. He has written on the impact of changing political and economic climates upon the operations of multinational corporations, both domestically and abroad. His thesis topic at Columbia was Libyan Oil Policy.
Prior to his affiliation with Heritage, Mr. Cornfeld was a member of the Trust Department of The Riggs National Bank of Washington, DC, where he was employed as a Portfolio Manager handling Trusts, Estates, and other investment accounts from April 1973 to December 1974.
Mr. Cornfeld has served as the Treasurer and on the Executive Committee of the Investment Adviser Association, an organization currently comprised of approximately 650 firms that collectively manage over $35 trillion in assets for a variety of individual and institutional clients. He is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, the Washington Association of Money Managers, the Cornell Club of Washington, the Columbia Club of Washington, and the Bethesda Country Club.
Mr. Cornfeld is also involved in providing service to his community. He has served as a Member of the Board of Directors of the Jewish Social Service Agency, the Washington Hebrew Congregation, and the Garden of Remembrance Cemetery, where he has both chaired and/or served on numerous committees devoted to finance and the management of endowment funds for all of these organizations.
His additional activities have included service to Cornell University, where he is a lifetime member of the Cornell Council, and to Columbia University, where he has served on the Boards of the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Columbia Alumni Association.
Most recently, Mr. Cornfeld joined the Board of the Planet Word Museum and chairs its Audit Committee.

Andrew Schenker, CFA
Chief Investment Officer
Andrew Schenker joined Heritage in 2016 and has served as Chief Investment Officer since 2021. Mr. Schenker graduated from Duke University having earned a B.S. in Economics with a double major in Computer Science. He received his MBA from Columbia Business School, where he was also inducted into the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. Mr. Schenker has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.

Andrew Schenker joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation in November 2016 as the Director of Research and Portfolio Manager and was elected Chief Investment Officer in March 2021. As Chief Investment Officer, his responsibilities include guiding the firm’s outlook and analysis of the equity and fixed income markets and overseeing the firm’s fundamental investment research analysis provided by all portfolio managers.
Mr. Schenker graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and a second major in Computer Science. He received his MBA with a concentration in Finance and Economics from Columbia University Business School, where he was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society. Mr. Schenker has also earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Schenker was an Executive Director at Morgan Stanley in the institutional equity research division. He served as a lead Research Analyst covering Managed Care, Healthcare Provider, and Healthcare Services companies. During his time at Morgan Stanley, he initiated and analyzed over 30 healthcare companies, publishing original research, building models and databases, and developing relationships with senior company management including CEOs and CFOs. He also conducted channel checks with government officials, consultants, trade organizations, and industry executives, and conveyed his findings to institutional investor clients as well as sales and trading. In recognition of his work, Mr. Schenker was voted a Rising Star of Wall Street in 2013, 2014, and 2015 in the annual Institutional Investor poll.
Mr. Schenker began his institutional equity research career at Sanford C. Bernstein. Before that, he worked for several investment management firms including four years at Richard L. Hanley Associates, which manages an investment partnership, as well as internships at Oppenheimer Capital (now Allianz Capital), Advent Capital Management, and Gabelli Asset Management.
Mr. Schenker is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, DC. He is also active in the community, serving as a member of the Board of Directors for Washington Hebrew Congregation, the Investment Committee for Norwood School, and as Vice-Chair of the Investment Committee for the Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park.

Beth Rosen
Chief Operations Officer
Beth Rosen is Chief Operating Officer of Heritage Investors. Prior to joining
the firm in September 2023, Ms. Rosen was Managing Director at Citigroup,
a leading global bank based in New York, where she served as Chief Operating Officer for Citi’s Personal Banking and Wealth Management division. In this capacity, she became known for her teams’ talent and process development, as well as for client service. She has more than 25 years of business experience at large financial services companies including Citigroup and Merrill Lynch, where she held managerial roles in Finance and Operations. Ms. Rosen is a graduate of Columbia University, where she earned both her BA in Economics and her MBA.

Beth M. Rosen joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation in September 2023 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in February 2024. As Chief Operating Officer, she oversees the administrative activities of the firm including the new accounts team, client accounting and billing, reporting, and training of operations personnel.
Ms. Rosen graduated from Columbia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. She received her MBA with a concentration in Strategy and Finance from Columbia University Business School, where she was a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honors Society and served as President of the Columbia Finance Organization.
Prior to joining Heritage, Ms. Rosen worked in Financial Services for over 25 years. She began her career in Equity Research and was a lead analyst at Merrill Lynch covering Specialty Finance Companies. After earning her MBA, she joined Citigroup, Inc., where she spent over 15 years and was promoted to Managing Director in 2016. During her tenure, she held senior positions within both the Operations and Finance departments.
Her two most senior roles at Citigroup were Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Citi’s Personal Banking and Wealth Management division and Lead Finance Officer (LFO) for the Institutional Client Group Operations and Technology division. As COO, she managed a global team of more than 500 employees and oversaw strategic planning, performance management, and resource allocation. As LFO, she was responsible for budgeting, forecasting, and expense management for three billion dollars of annual spending. She also served as a member of Citi’s Diversity and Inclusion Council.
Outside of work, Ms. Rosen is an active Columbia University alumna, volunteering as a mentor through the Odyssey program. She has also served for three years as Treasurer of her Condominium Board.

Kenneth J. Long, CFA, CPA
Executive Vice President
Kenneth J. Long joined Heritage in August 1995 and has served as Executive Vice President since 2021. Mr. Long graduated cum laude with a B.A. from the University of Maryland in 1990. He earned his CPA license in 1991. In 1995, he received his MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. Mr. Long was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1998.

Kenneth J. Long joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in August 1995. He was elected Vice President in December 2002 and Executive Vice President in March 2021. His responsibilities include structuring and designing portfolios to meet clients’ investment and financial objectives. To achieve these objectives, he researches equity and fixed income securities and trades in the equity and fixed income markets.
Mr. Long graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in June 1990 with a BA in Economics. In February 1991, he earned his Certified Public Accountant license from the State of Maryland. In May 1995, he received his MBA in Finance from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in September 1998.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Long worked from 1990 to 1993 as a CPA and Senior Auditor for Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers). He audited and prepared financial statements for U.S. public companies and recommended improvements to internal controls. He was later employed in the Private Banking Division of Citicorp, where he analyzed loan portfolios and evaluated investment strategies of potential clients.
Mr. Long is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, and the Washington Association of Money Managers. He also serves as a member of the Our Lady of the Visitation Parish Investment Committee and volunteers with Bethesda Cares, a community outreach program for the homeless.
His community service includes serving on the Board of Trustees of St. John’s College High School, the Finance Council and the Pastoral Council for St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, and the Board of Directors of Mary of Nazareth Catholic School. He has also organized benefit races for cancer research in support of Johns Hopkins Hospital.

Sophia Colas
Chief Compliance Officer
Sophia Colas is the Chief Compliance Officer of Heritage Investors Management Corporation. Her responsibilities include implementing and maintaining the firm’s compliance program, including administering and enforcing the firm’s policies and procedures. Ms. Colas earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law. She holds a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Economics from Georgia Southern University.

Sophia Colas is the Chief Compliance Officer of Heritage Investors Management Corporation. She joined the firm in May 2025 and is responsible for implementing and maintaining the firm’s compliance program, as well as administering and enforcing its policies and procedures. Ms. Colas works closely with staff to ensure compliance is integrated into daily operations and provides training and insight on regulatory topics to the investment team and broader staff. She also oversees processes related to the firm’s regulatory obligations, including filings such as Form ADV.
Prior to joining Heritage, Ms. Colas served as Senior Counsel at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). At the SEC, she developed extensive technical knowledge of the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 and the Investment Company Act of 1940. She contributed to rulemakings and drafted industry guidance in the Division of Trading and Markets, and later led complex compliance inspections of both domestic and foreign advisers and investment companies in the Division of Examinations.
Ms. Colas is recognized for her collaborative style, practical problem-solving skills, and deep regulatory expertise. She is committed to fostering a strong culture of compliance at Heritage.
Ms. Colas earned her J.D. from Syracuse University College of Law and holds a B.S. in Political Science and a B.A. in Economics from Georgia Southern University. She is a member of the Georgia State Bar, the Financial Services Professionals (FSP) organization of Washington, DC, and the Association of Securities and Exchange Commission Alumni.

Derek R. Stone, CFA
Senior Vice President
Derek R. Stone joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation in 1982
and has served as Senior Vice President since 2021. Mr. Stone graduated cum laude from Harvard University in 1980 with a B.A. in Economics. In 1982, he received an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Stone was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1985.

Derek R. Stone joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in July 1982. He was elected Vice President in July 1992 and Senior Vice President in March 2021. His responsibilities at Heritage have included trading equities and municipal, government, and corporate bonds, as well as researching the equity and fixed income markets. As a Portfolio Manager, he also designs portfolios to meet clients’ financial objectives. Mr. Stone was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1985.
Mr. Stone graduated cum laude from Harvard University in June 1980 with a BA in Economics, concentrating on macroeconomic policy and international and developmental economics. In May 1982, he received an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, where he emphasized security analysis, investment management, and the study of financial markets. At Wharton, he wrote an Advanced Study Project on the price behavior of initial public offerings of stock and served as President of the Investment Game Club.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Stone worked in the research department of Mocatta Metals Corporation, a major commodities trading house. His work at Mocatta primarily involved a study of commodity option pricing.
Mr. Stone is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, the Washington Association of Money Managers, the Harvard Club of Washington, and the Wharton Club of Washington.

Brian Curtin, CFA
Vice President
Brian M. Curtin joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation in February 2018 and was promoted to Vice President in 2023. Mr. Curtin graduated from Cornell University in 2001 and earned a B.S. in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. In 2007, he received an MBA specializing in Finance and Quantitative Finance from NYU-Stern. Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Curtin worked in equity research at Loomis Sayles. Mr. Curtin was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2023.

Brian M. Curtin joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Research Analyst in February 2018. He became a Portfolio Manager in March 2018 and a Vice President in January 2023. His responsibilities at Heritage include trading equities, municipal, government, and corporate bonds, as well as researching the equity and fixed income markets. As a Portfolio Manager, he designs and directs portfolios to meet client objectives.
Mr. Curtin graduated from Cornell University in May 2001 with a BS in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering. In May 2007, he received an MBA specializing in Finance and Quantitative Finance from NYU Stern, where he was an officer of the Association for Investment Management and a contributor to the Admission Department’s Torch Committee. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in November 2023.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Curtin worked in various research roles for five investment management firms, covering a variety of sectors and asset classes. At Loomis Sayles, he specialized in equity research in the energy industry, with a focus on exploration and production companies. After earning his MBA, he joined ING, where he researched both equities and fixed income investments with a focus on oil and gas, metals, mining, coal, and industrials. He then worked in fixed income research for Lord Abbett, following metals, mining, and industrials companies. Additionally, Mr. Curtin interned at two hedge funds during his MBA studies and worked in Institutional Equity Sales for an investment bank.
Mr. Curtin is a member of the Cornell Club of Washington, the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, and the Washington Association of Money Managers.

Laura L. McAree, CFA, CFP®
Vice President
Laura L. McAree rejoined Heritage Investors Management Corporation in 2020 and was promoted to Vice President in 2023. Ms. McAree graduated in June 1987 from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. in Economics. She was awarded her Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in June 1996 and became a CFP® professional in July 2018.

Laura L. McAree rejoined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in March 2020 and became a Vice President in January 2023. She works with individuals, families, and retirement plans to develop and implement customized investment strategies that align with each client’s financial objectives. As a member of the Heritage Investment Committee, she researches and analyzes equity and fixed income securities and industries to construct well-designed portfolios.
Ms. McAree graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in June 1987 with a BS in Economics and a concentration in Finance. She earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in June 1996 and became a CFP® professional in July 2018.
With over 20 years of experience as an investment manager, Ms. McAree has worked extensively with individuals, families, and institutions in the DC area, delivering holistic wealth management that incorporates investment, tax, estate planning, and risk management. She began her career in 1987 as an Analyst for Harvard Management Company in Boston, then managed fixed income investments for the Boeing Company in Seattle in 1990. She later worked as a Fixed Income Trader at T. Rowe Price in Baltimore until 1997, before joining Salomon Smith Barney as a Financial Consulting Associate.
Ms. McAree first joined Heritage as a Portfolio Manager in 1999, where she worked until 2000. She then held roles at Aegis Wealth Management, Garnet Group, and West Financial Services, Inc., before joining United Capital in 2019. After United Capital was acquired by Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, she served as Vice President until rejoining Heritage in 2020.
She has served as a board member of the Fox Hills Civic Association, participated actively in the Parent Teacher Association of Bells Mill Elementary School, and supported the DC National Rowing Club and the William and Mary Rowing Club. She is also a parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, and the National Capital Area Chapter of the Financial Planning Association.

Scott B. Wilson, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Scott B. Wilson joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in September 2023. Mr. Wilson graduated from Brown University in May 2005, where he earned a B.A. in Comparative Literature. He was awarded his Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in June 2012 and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, DC.

Scott B. Wilson joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in September 2023. In this role, he designs portfolios tailored to meet the personal financial goals of his clients. His responsibilities at Heritage also include conducting fundamental investment research and trading equity and fixed-income securities.
Mr. Wilson graduated from Brown University in May 2005 with a B.A. in Comparative Literature. He earned the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 2012.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Wilson held various roles at several financial services firms. Most recently, he served for seven years at Harbour Capital Advisors as a Portfolio Manager, where he oversaw the firm’s core equity portfolio. He was responsible for analyzing individual portfolios, generating new investment ideas, and implementing those ideas in client accounts. He also collaborated with the wealth planning team, working closely with clients to discuss investment strategies, performance, and portfolio positioning to help them achieve long-term financial goals.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Wilson was a member of the Consumer Equity Research Team at Sands Capital, conducting fundamental research and maintaining primary coverage of portfolio companies and new ideas. He led several international research trips to conduct due diligence, meet with company leadership, and assess competitive dynamics. Before Sands Capital, he was a Research Associate at Copper Rock Capital in Boston, specializing in Small-Cap stocks, where he built detailed financial models and analyzed portfolio attributes and risk metrics. He began his career as a Wealth Management Associate at Bernstein Global Wealth Management in New York, supporting financial advisors and their clients with asset allocation strategies and wealth forecasting analysis.
Mr. Wilson is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society of Washington, DC, and the Brown Club of Washington, DC.

Craig L. Lukin, CFA
Portfolio Manager
Craig L. Lukin joined Heritage as a Portfolio Manager in January 2025. He
has over 30 years of experience analyzing companies and over 20 years of experience in the investment management industry. Mr. Lukin graduated from Cornell University in 1989 with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management. In 1994, he earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in Finance and Accounting. Mr. Lukin was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1997.

Craig L. Lukin joined Heritage Investors Management Corporation as a Portfolio Manager in January 2025. His responsibilities at Heritage include conducting fundamental investment research and trading equity and fixed-income securities. As a Portfolio Manager, he designs portfolios to meet clients’ investment and financial objectives.
Mr. Lukin graduated from Cornell University in 1989 with a B.S. in Applied Economics and Business Management. In 1994, he earned an MBA in Finance and Accounting from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He was awarded the Chartered Financial Analyst® designation in 1997.
Prior to joining Heritage, Mr. Lukin spent 22 years at Roumell Asset Management, LLC, an investment management firm. He joined in 2003 as an Analyst, conducting fundamental research to identify investment ideas. In 2007, he was promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, where he led operational, financial, and compliance functions. He monitored portfolio holdings, portfolio values, and asset allocation to ensure investment objectives were met, while also serving as the firm’s trader throughout his tenure.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Lukin worked as an Associate at Dent & Company Incorporated, a private investment firm specializing in middle-market leveraged buyouts of manufacturing, specialty distribution, and branded consumer products companies. There, he focused on deal origination, investment analysis of target companies, and monitoring existing portfolio companies.
Following his MBA, Mr. Lukin joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in the Corporate Value Consulting group. He began as an Associate and was later promoted to Manager, providing financial consulting services and performing valuations of both closely held and publicly traded businesses for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, litigation, book reporting, and tax purposes.
Mr. Lukin is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Washington, DC.
